I was not the only one who mourned the passing of this sign.

It was a mainstay of local advertising. Their jingle contest unleashed a wave of… well, maybe not genius, but something. Industriousness? I wonder where the cow and pig outfits are now? Somebody’s basement?


Aw, Barbara Ann. They were so charming. The smiles on their faces and the little chef’s hats.

Oh, Kiddieland. Are we better off for having a Costco on that land today? No. No we are not. They could have taken down the amusement park and just left the sign there, and we would be better people for it today. Kiddieland.

The Claudio Pastry man is no more… I love the way he’s holding the sign up.

Also no longer with us.

Gone, but not forgotten, the Magikist Lips sign at Montrose. It was a thing of beauty.

Now closed. Pity… it was a sign of distinction.
