Harold’s Chicken

I don’t know what’s going on here, Harold. When I took this picture in 2005, I put it at 88th and Stony Island. And yes, there is a Harold’s there today, but it looks nothing like this. It’s “Crazy Howard’s Harold’s Chicken”, which is a way better name, but it doesn’t have as good a sign. The chicken isn’t alarmed and the axe is not in motion.

“M DOUBLE O TO THE O. I. N. K.”
It was a mainstay of local advertising. Their jingle contest unleashed a wave of… well, maybe not genius, but something. Industriousness? I wonder where the cow and pig outfits are now? Somebody’s basement?
Barbara Ann’s BBQ

Aw, Barbara Ann. They were so charming. The smiles on their faces and the little chef’s hats.

Roseland Obama Attractions
If you ever have the chance to attend a service at the Reformation African American Lutheran Mission Church, by all means go. It’s a small congregation, but a rousing sermon. Also, Jazz Vespers. Obama had an office in the basement.

You can see where Obama got his hair cut, see where the Obamas went on their first date, and See Your Food.
